Shailene Woodley Gets Sick At Prom In 'Spectacular Now' Deleted Scene

In an exclusive Blu-ray clip, Aimee and Sutter make a scene and a mess.

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival is almost upon us, but if you can remember back all the way to last year's gathering in Park City, Utah, you may recall a small indie that emerged as a big crowd-pleaser. The movie was "The Spectacular Now," and it starred rising young actors Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.

Months later, "The Spectacular Now" opened in theaters and went onto become one of the best reviewed indies of the year. Next week, the film hits Blu-ray and DVD with a collection of deleted scenes, one of which we're debuting exclusively.

"The Spectacular Now" tells the story of Sutter (Teller), a party-loving high schooler who has no intention doing anything but living in the moment and enjoying his youth. Then he meets the self-described awkward girl, Aimee, played by the future "Fault in Our Stars" actress. While that may seem like a typical set-up for a young romance, "The Spectacular Now" never quite keeps to the formula.

Take, as a perfect example, this exclusive deleted scene from the upcoming Blu-ray. Emboldened by the more outgoing Sutter, Aimee gets completely wasted at their prom and makes a bit of a mess on the floor. It's not exactly cute, but it's more real than your average teen drama.

Sutter has recently broken up with his longtime girlfriend, Cassidy (Brie Larson), and when she comes to tell him that his current girlfriend is passed out in the bathroom, he doesn't exactly react in the most appropriate way. Soon, Aimee is back on her feet and accusing Cassidy of trying to steal her boyfriend. You know, just normal prom stuff.

"The Spectacular Now" hits Blu-ray and DVD on January 14.
