Q-Tip and DMX are among the established rappers collaborating with their protégés on the upcoming hip-hop compilation, Next Up: Blunt Blends Volume 2, according to a press release from TVT Records. The album is scheduled to come out early next year. Q-Tip, formerly of A Tribe Called Quest, works with Consequence on "High Rollers," while DMX works with Drag On, on "Yeah Yeah." Other rappers and their protégés include Xzibit and Montage, the Lost Boyz and Dave Bing and the Whoridas and 3rd Rail. The compilation will be a co-release from TVT and Blunt Records, which also released Blunt Special Blends, with such rappers as Royal Flush, Bounty Killer and Mic Geronimo, in 1997.
