Twi-Fight Saga Bites Into Elite Eight Short A Few Cullens
Cullen casualties abounded during the third round of MTV News' Twi-Fight Saga, leaving the beloved coven to forge ahead into the Elite Eight short a few key players.
Among the vegetarian vampires knocked out in the Sweet 16 are Renesmee, who was bested by uncle Jasper; Rosalie, who was taken out by Forks' trusty sheriff Charlie Swan; Emmett, who fell to Denali ally Kate; and Carlisle, whose wife Esme got the better of him. As expected, Edward and Bella easily advanced past their lower-seeded competition to secure their spots in the fourth round.
Each match-up in the Elite Eight will hold special significance for Twilighters. Edward will now face his surrogate mother Esme, while Denali sisters Tanya and Kate will do battle. After besting mom Renee in our second round, Bella will now go toe-to-toe with dad Charlie (and his glorious mustache). And we have another spouse vs. spouse situation on our hands, as Alice will duel with her beloved Jasper.
Lots of tough decisions will have to be made as Sweet Sixteen voting kicks off today at Twilight.MTV.com. This fourth round will continue through November 5, followed by the Final Four, and, then the Championship Round, which begins November 8 and concludes November 12, with the No. 1 character from Stephenie Meyer's canon crowned victor.
