Godsmack's Erna Talks Wicca Faith As "Voodoo" Video Arrives

On Sunday, people will be taking to the streets to celebrate Halloween dressed as ghosts, goblins, and witches. Some people take witchcraft a little more seriously, however, and live as witches all year round, including Godsmack frontman Sully Erna.

Erna practices the Wicca faith, and he recently incorporated his beliefs, along with an actual Wicca ceremony, into the group's spooky new video for the song "Voodoo" (see "Godsmack To Shed Light On Wicca Faith In New Video").

Even though the video is very dark, Erna contends that witchcraft is nothing to be afraid of, and he talked to MTV News about it.

"The most common misconceptions about witchcraft," Erna began, "is that too many people think that it's satanic, and there's no demons or devils that exist in Wicca, so therefore, you can't worship something that doesn't exist. It's simply about the belief of the Earth, natural herbs, and healing remedies that come from the Earth. A lot of spiritual beliefs, karma, stuff like that. So it's pretty pure, in a religion. It's pretty harmless." [RealVideo]

You can catch more from Sully Erna and Godsmack as well as the band's new video this week on "MTV News 1515" which airs Friday night at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
