The big-screen adaptation of Richelle Mead's delicious "Vampire Academy" series has been such a long time coming that it's hard to believe it's actually happening. If you feel much the same way, then here's a little reality check for you: Star Zoey Deutch (who will portray badass Dhampir Rose Hathaway) is currently training for the film!

That's right! The actress took to Twitter to bemoan a few sore muscles following a fun yet painful session.

When we caught up with the actress last month as she promoted "Beautiful Creatures," she revealed a bit about the Daniel Waters-penned script.

"It is so funny. The script is so funny, and it is so interesting," Zoey said. "I don't even know what kind of genre it would be categorized in. It's very different. And I'm very excited, and the tone is so interesting—and [director] Mark Waters, who I'm like a huge fan of. It's going to be really crazy."

We can hardly wait.
