Ellie Goulding has something big on the way. On Monday (Sept. 14), the singer unleashed a release date for a new song via Instagram and Twitter.
The "Love Me Like You Do" chanteuse can be seen in the slow-motion video, wearing nothing but tinsel and a see-through smock, her side-torso lotus tattoo clearly on display. The metallic fringe floats around as if she's underwater.
The date to memorize? 9/17/15. That's this Thursday!
Goulding recently told Refinery29 that her upcoming album will be pop. In the past, she's been lauded as a crossover EDM act.
"It's summery," she told R29. "It's pop-y and it's got a summer feeling, but it's more of an end-of-summer feeling. It's kind of heartbreaking at times, but it's also uplifting."
So... lots of emotions in there.
After the release of "Love Me Like You Do," which broke the global record for most streamed song in one week, Goulding admitted that she was having a hard time dealing with its success.
"That was a time when I couldn't deal with anything," she told R29. "I was drinking, and I was not really myself. It's only when you come out of that phase you realize you were in trouble. Now that I'm not in trouble, it makes it more obvious just how close I was to losing it all. Luckily I never got to that point."
And perhaps we'll get some of that feeling of confusion and chaos on the new record. We'll find out soon -- after all, we have only three days to wait.
