'True Life' To Follow Survivors Of The Pulse Nightclub Shooting
For nearly 20 years, True Life has documented groundbreaking topics through the eyes of brave young people. Now, the long-running MTV staple will chronicle those affected by the Pulse shooting in Florida.
True Life: We Are Orlando, which will premiere on August 15, will showcase four brave survivors of the attack as they try to come to terms with the trauma and get their lives back on track. But there’s a twist: For the first time in the series’ run, viewers will become acquainted with those featured on the program before the episode airs and follow their stories as they are being filmed. Beginning today, the network will release videos while production on the show is still underway; the inaugural clips, featuring Tony, can be seen below.
The episode and accompanying digital series will also feature interviews with additional Orlando-based LGBTQ community members who will show their determination and resiliency as they speak out about how the tragic event has changed their entire community.
Stay with MTV for more updates, and be sure to watch the lead-up clips as well as True Life: We Are Orlando, premiering on Monday, August 15.
