4 Reasons ‘Bastard Executioner’ Could Be 'Sons Of Anarchy' Meets 'Game Of Thrones'

... And hey, we're pretty okay with that!

Those still mourning the tragic loss of "Sons of Anarchy," rejoice -- the show's creator Kurt Sutter is already back, and his upcoming production sounds like something we think you'll like. Basically, it sounds like a lot of the things you loved about "Sons of Anarchy," with some "Game of Thrones" thrown in for good measure.

The official definition of Sutter's FX pilot, per Deadline, is "the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword... but when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all."

Which sounds great and all -- and Stephen Moyer's ("True Blood") addition to the cast is an added perk -- but we're still convinced that this could be the perfect mash-up of two of our favorite TV dramas, ever. Here's why:

It stars Gemma Teller.

This news might not come as a huge surprise since Katey Sagal is Sutter's wife, but Sagal will return from her brief "SoA" hiatus to play "Annora of the Alders," who "offers predictions, cures and potions." Sounds a bit like Melisandre, no?

It stars a (once again mute) Otto.

In a hilarious nod to his "SoA" fan-favorite, Sutter will once again join the cast of his own show, playing "The Dark Mute," who is Annora's "mate and guardian." Basically, he sounds like Otto mixed with Jorah Mormont and Jaqen H'ghar.

It focuses on a man who wants to stop the violence, but is pulled back in for reasons beyond his control.

This is Sutter's bread and butter, folks. "Bastard"'s warrior knight (played by newcomer Lee Jones) will deal with a legacy of violence that he seemingly cannot control, and based on the brief description things will quickly get even worse -- basically, he's Jax mixed with Ned Stark, and he's 100 percent doomed.

It's medieval.

Okay, so "Game of Thrones" isn't exactly medieval, since King Edward I didn't have White Walkers or dragons to contend with -- AS FAR AS WE KNOW. But "GoT" borrows its costumes, castles, and more from that era, so it's close enough.

Also, "Bastard" will also be shooting in the U.K. -- just in Wales, instead of "GoT"'s Ireland. This is going to be one for the ages, folks.
