12 Celebs Who Keep Their Iconic Movie Characters Alive

And we thank them for it

Halloween is the one time of year you can be anyone other than yourself, and in actors’ cases, they can choose to be movie characters from their pasts. Whether celebrities reunite for a film’s anniversary or just feel like traveling down memory lane in style, we’re so thankful these actors are keeping their various movie characters from the ’90s and ’00s — and one from the ’80s — alive and well.

Hilary Duff

Before she was Lizzie McGuire, Duff was Wendy the Good Little Witch in Casper Meets Wendy. Thanks to a Snapchat filter, Duff was able to flawlessly recreate her early movie character.

Lindsay Lohan

LiLo’s channeled her Parent Trap characters several times on Instagram, including when she did the famous face-on-hand pose, when she Dubsmashed herself, and when she rocked the tweed jacket above.

Saved By The Bell

Most of the Saved by the Bell squad stopped by The Tonight Show in 2015 to hang out with host Jimmy Fallon at ol’ Bayside High. (Yeah, yeah, Saved by the Bell is a TV show, not a movie, but they did have a few TV movies, so we’re counting it.)

Kenan & Kel

After making late ’80s/early ’90s kids’ dreams come true with his Saved by the Bell reunion, Jimmy Fallon made late-’90s kids scream, “Aw, here it goes!” when he reunited the stars of Kenan & Kel and Good Burger in 2015.

Kimberly J. Brown

During last year’s Spirit of Halloweentown festival and the one earlier this month, Brown revived Marnie Cromwell, complete with hat and robe from Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge.

The Little Rascals Gang

The spunky kids from the classic ’90s film were reunited by 22 Vision in 2014 and recreated several of their characters’ famous moments from the film.

Hook’s Lost Boys

Also through 22 Vision, the Lost Boys gathered together for the first time since the movie was filmed to swap memories and honor the late Robin Williams earlier this year.

Michael Oliver from Problem Child

Oliver played evil kid Junior, and was reunited with his Problem Child 2 costar, Ivyann Schwan, for a 2013 photo shoot with 22 Vision.

Kevin Bacon Footloose

In 2014, Jimmy Fallon broke the internet after using The Tonight Show to turn Bacon back into ’80s heartthrob Ren McCormack from Footloose.

High School Musical 4

After High School Musical 4 was announced, everyone lost their minds and wanted to be the next Wildcat. Johnson, who played Zac Efron’s movie dad, Coach Jack Bolton, in the first three films, donned his coaching gear and made a parody video about auditioning for the newest movie in the Disney franchise.

Ashley Tisdale

Though she didn’t don Sharpay Evans’s stylish pink look, Tisdale’s shirt from Signorelli, of which she’s the creative director, channels one of her songs from High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Thomas Ian Nicholas

Before he was part of the American Pie universe, Nicholas was a child actor in several films, including Rookie of the Year. He showed up to Hilarity for Charity’s 5th Annual Los Angeles Variety Show on October 15, sporting Henry Rowengartner’s Chicago Cubs jersey his character wore in the movie.
