As if the ferocity of "Roar" wasn't proof enough, Katy Perry's latest release proves that Prism isn't leaving any room for self-doubt or second guessing. On the contrary, she uses her Juicy J-assisted "Dark Horse," released on Tuesday (September 17), to not only say she's "capable of anything and everything," but to prove it it.

Perry had warned her fans that they were in for something "witchy and dark" when they voted "Dark Horse" to be released early over fellow Prism track "Walking on Air." And while its heavy bass makes the track undeniably danceable, it's tinged with an equally sinister sound to make it just as menacing as its lyrics.

While she may be technically wooing a certain somebody -- "Make me your Aphrodite," she requests -- "Dark Horse" most definitely not a plead, but a dare. And it's one he should only accept if he knows all the weird stuff he's getting into: a love that will, apparently, "make you levitate." Creepy.

"So you wanna play with magic? Boy, you should know what you're falling for," Perry sings on the chorus, before warning, "Once you're mine / There's no going back."

Produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, Perry wrote the song with her friend Sarah Hudson in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California. When we caught up with her on the VMAs red carpet last month, she described it as a "juxtaposition," saying, "It's got me, a pop artist, with a little bit of an urban kind of hip-hop-flavored background soundtrack to it."

But did she successfully mix the two genres? Juicy J seemed to think so.

"My verse I did on that song, she was singing it," Juicy told "RapFix Live" last month. "She's really a genius, she was by the mixing board and telling the guy what to take in and take out. She's really hands on with her music, she knows music."
