The Oscars might've been Hollywood's biggest night, but it was a musician who truly stole the show—we're talking about Lady Gaga, of course. Fittingly, Gaga had three custom—and very different!—Azzedine Alaïa gowns for her mayjah evening.

While the most memorable—or meme-able—part of her red carpet outfit was the unexpected addition of those red gloves, there was a lot more to this first ensemble than immediately meets the eye. Vogue spoke with Gaga and Brandon Maxwell, her stylist, before the show, who revealed that the dress' creation was "a process that required a team of 25 people, working for two weeks."

Though they were hidden under the gown's skirt, the ensemble included silver shoes with red accents to match the infamous gloves.

Beauty-wise, Gaga and her team went for Old Hollywood glamour, with a classic red lip and, according to her makeup artist, "soft feathery lashes."

For her flawless performance, Gaga changed into her second custom look of the evening, a slightly iridescent, white gown. She swapped her platinum updo for a wavy 'do that is, somehow, not a color? Like, it's not gray, it's not blonde—IDK what it is, but I like it.

Her final look for the Vanity Fair after-party was darker but equally as glam. The dress and shoes were, of course, Alaïa, but the ~bling~ came courtesy of Lorraine Schwartz—who, BTW, just designed her brand new engagement ring.

While she kept the same hair, she vamped up her makeup, switching to a dark lip and very smoky eye. Bowing forever at this look, TBH.

Congrats on slaying your performance and three looks last night, Gaga—I hope you're sleeping for the next three weeks, you deserve it.
