Taylor Lautner's No Big Wolf At Home: 'I Still Help Out With The Garbage'

The “Twilight Saga’s” leading wolf, Taylor Lautner, lets GQ magazine know that he’s much more grounded than we might have expected. With screaming fans, one hot body, and now being one of the highest paid teenage actors in Hollywood, it’s refreshing to see an A-lister who’s handling the pressure while maintaining focused.

The actor posed for the cover of GQ magazine looking sexier than ever in a grey v-neck shirt, exposing his infamous strong biceps, and looking much older than his 18-year-old-self. And that’s what’s striking about the young star- he’s mature, modest, and definitely doesn’t want to be a “fleeting curiosity.”

When Taylor had to audition a second time to keep his role of Jacob Black in “New Moon,” he did everything in his power to not lose the part. He tells GQ that he motivated himself during workouts, telling himself, “I want this role. I love this role. I’m not gonna lose it. And I’m gonna know it better than anybody, and I’m gonna do that extra rep, because I’m gonna be Jacob Black.” He even would read the books and study his character while at the gym!

But going the extra mile paid off in the long run, since he regained his coveted role of Jacob in the “Twilight Saga," and even got to present at the Oscars with his co-star, Kristen Stewart. The teen admitted, “I would have passed out if she wasn’t there!”

Being surrounded at the Oscars by actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney kept Taylor completely awe-struck, due to the fact that he keeps a relatively normal life outside of filming. “The thing I love is that my home life hasn’t changed," he explains. And of course that means keeping up with chores. He added, “I still help out with the garbage. I still help out with the lawn.”

And although Taylor knows his fabulous abs are a fan favorite, he won’t take his shirt off for any role! When asked to take his shirt off while filming a scene that took place in a high school in “Valentine’s Day," Taylor recalled, “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Time out.” He further clarified, “The reason I took off my shirt for 'New Moon' is because it’s written in the book that way. And there’s reasons behind it.”

Check out the rest of the interview and more pictures of Taylor wearing next season’s fall trends in the July issue of GQ which hits the stands June 22nd.

How does this GQ cover stack up to the other covers you've seen Taylor on? Are you happy to hear he still helps out at home?
