Blink-182 Duo To Play Jan And Dean In TV Mini-Series

Aside from playing as part of this summer's Warped tour, fans can catch glimpses of Blink-182 guitarist Tom Delonge and bassist Mark Hoppus in the new teen sex comedy, "American Pie," in which the two have small roles as, well, members of a band.

Hoppus and Delonge apparently enjoyed the camera time, as the two have been cast to play '60s surf act Jan and Dean and perform "Dead Man's Curve" in the upcoming CBS mini-series "Shake, Rattle and Roll."

The MTV Radio Network recently spoke with Hoppus about the film and movie roles, and the bassist joked about working his way up the acting hierarchy

"Yes, Tom and I play Jan and Dean in this movie about the history of rock & roll," Hoppus said, "and it's like another little bit part. Well, it's not even a bit part, it's a cameo. What's the level? First

there's extra, then

there's walk-on, then there's cameo, and then there's bit part, right? So, we're down at the very low end, but we get to play Jan and Dean."[RealAudio]

Delonge and Hoppus of Blink-182 join Mighty Mighty Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett in "Shake, Rattle and Roll" (see "The Bosstones' Dicky Barrett Up For Bill Haley Role"), which is expected to air on CBS in November.
