Women In Japan Are Freaking Out Over This 'Sexy' Gorilla Named Shabani

The world's most handsome gorilla lives in a zoo in Japan.

Is there such a thing as a "sexy" gorilla?

According to some of the women in and around Nagoya, Japan, there is ... and his name is Shabani. Audiences have flocked to the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya to look at Shabani (and to admire his "handsome" features) in person.

In an interview with the Agence France-Presse, Higashiyama Zoo spokesperson Takayuki Ishikawa said that Shabani is in peak physical form. “He is more buff than most gorillas and he’s at his peak physically. We’ve seen a rise in the number of female visitors – women say he’s very good-looking," Ishikawa claimed.

His rise largely developed on Twitter where young fans refer to him as "too handsome" or "ikemen," which translates to "good looking man." Senior zookeeper Allan Schmidt would agree. "I would say most people would consider him fairly dashing," Schmidt told the Daily Mail last week.

When not surrounded by adoring (human) fans, Shabani spends times with his brood which includes two kids and two female mates. Born in the Netherlands, Shabani was raised in Australia before making his way to Japan in 2007 where he's found a surge of young fans.

What does the future hold for Shabani? Endorsement deals? A world tour? Definitive proof that he is the missing link? We'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, feel free to stare. We're sure he's used to it.
