In the wake of Tommy Lee's recent decision to leave Motley Crue after 18 years with the band, more attention is being paid to the drummer's new full-time project, the Methods of Mayhem.

Tentatively slated for release in December, the Mayhem album is said to feature some of Lee's collaborations with the likes of Kid Rock, Crystal Method and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst (see [article id="1429443"]"Tommy Lee Taps Wu-Tang, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Others For Side Project"[/article]).

During a recent interview with the MTV Radio Network, Kid Rock attempted to recount some of the rock and roll craziness that pervaded his and Durst's sessions with the ex-Crue drummer.

I don't know what the name of that song was," Rock said, "we really didn't have a name for it. We just got in there and we showed up at [Tommy's] house late one night... [I] wrote some lyrics down and Fred wrote some lyrics down, and I don't even know what he ended up doing for a hook on that song

or anything. What was my opening line? 'I'm like a white picket fence on a thousand acres/A sight for sore eyes disguised by nature.' Then it all started getting raw and hardcore, and I was like, 'Yeah!'

Then I just remember jumping around, sliding down his railing all night," Rock said, laughing, "I was bouncing around his house like a fool.

As we reported last week (see [article id="1432373"]"Tommy Lee And Motley Crue Parting Company"[/article]), Motley Crue is still hoping to land journeyman drummer Matt Sorum to fill in for the departed Lee on the band's upcoming summer tour.

Kid Rock has just finished his most recent road stint in support of his recent album, "Devil Without a Cause," but has just been added to the lineup of this year's Woodstock festival, being held on July 23-25 in Rome, New York.
