Korn Do 'Time' For Lara Croft

Band unveils new sound with song featured in 'Tomb Raider' sequel.

They've spent months boasting about their powerful new sound. So, how heavy have Korn become? So heavy that the makers of the film "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" thought the band's new single would make the ideal pounding backdrop for the cartoon-inspired vixen to slay baddies to.

The song, "Did My Time," will be featured in the film, but not on the movie's soundtrack. It will, however, be one of the tracks on the next Korn record, which should be out by the end of the year (see [article id="1471553"]"Korn Finishing Up LP, Jonathan Davis Says Bizkit's Axeman 'No Wes'[/article]").

"It's the most bangin' song Korn's ever put out in our life," bassist Fieldy bragged on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. "It's headbanging."

A video for the track will be shot by Dave Meyers.

Frontman Jonathan Davis said the song sets the tone for the band's as-yet-untitled new album. Korn have recorded music for all 10 songs on the record, and Davis is currently writing lyrics and recording vocals.

"I was on a trip going around the country writing lyrics and stuff, and now I'm done with that," Davis revealed. "I'll be done probably in a couple weeks."

Once again, Davis stressed how brutal and uncompromising the new stuff will be.

"It's a way big departure from the last album [Untouchables]," he said. "It's not so overproduced. This one is more pissed off and more raw. Personally, I've been having tough times to dwell on and it inspires me to write tough things."

Korn decided to record a disc less than a year after Untouchables because on their last tour they realized their newest songs weren't gelling onstage.

"Untouchables was something that we had to do, but a lot of the songs we didn't end up playing live," Davis explained. "Some of them didn't connect, some of them were weird. At one point, we were only playing two or three songs off the album and we went, 'You know what, man? We gotta go back and do the album we want to do.' "

Korn will hit the road with Ozzfest beginning June 28 in Selma, Texas (see [article id="1470012"]"Ozzy, Korn, Marilyn Manson Tapped For Ozzfest"[/article]).
