Marilyn Manson Runs Into Protests In Texas

Feb. 6 [1:55 EST] -- The Marilyn Manson public uproar sideshow rolled into Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday night, where religious activists reportedly exchanged heated words with the band's devotees.

The band's show at Lubbock's Fair Park Coliseum reportedly sparked a verbal confrontation between churchgoers and Manson ticketholders, many of whom were clad in the requisite black fineries and make-up.

According to an Associated Press report, 75 religious protesters came out to the venue to denounce the band for aledgedly endorsing violence and Satanism. The protesters were reportedly met with less than supportive words from some fans, but police kept a lid on the conlict.

After Lubbock, Marilyn Manson moved on to play its troubled Oklahoma City show on Wednesday night, where it was warned similar protests could be expected.
