Sia Wrote Maroon 5 And Gwen Stefani One Intense Song: Listen
The deluxe, 14-track version of Maroon 5's fifth studio album, V, is streaming right now on iTunes Radio, which means that fans of the band are finally able to listen to frontman Adam Levine's much buzzed-about collaboration with his fellow "Voice" judge, Gwen Stefani.
The understated piano ballad was co-penned by Sia -- and it shows. The sweeping sonic landscapes and the raw, elongated vowel dips have her signature all over them. Levine, Benny Blanco, Darkchild and Andre Lindal all played a hand in the song's creation, too, just in case you need more reasons to check it out.
Other standouts on the LP include lead single "Maps", "It Was Always You," with verses that build to near George Michael "Freedom '90" levels, and a cover of Marcy Playground's "Sex And Candy." There's also "Sugar," a slinky bit of Bee Gees electronica -- not unlike past hit "Makes Me Wonder" -- that makes for a pretty effective comedown from the plethora of '70s-throwback we've been given this past year.
