Guided By Voices Taps Former Members Of Breeders, The Cars For New Album

Guided By Voices frontman Robert Pollard has once again retooled the Dayton, Ohio band's lineup. He's recruited ex-Breeders drummer Jim McPherson and ex-Amps bassist Nate Farley for the band's new album, "Do the Collapse."

Produced by former Cars leader Ric Ocasek, noted for his work with such groups as Bad Brains, Weezer, Nada Surf, and D Generation, "Do the Collapse" marks GBV's first album as part of a new deal with TVT Records. The band released its last three studio albums, dating back to 1995's "Alien Lanes," via Matador Records.

Prior to the new album's release, Guided By Voices will join Sleater-Kinney, Sunny Day Real Estate, Sonic Youth, and Apples in Stereo, among others, for a special July 4th show being held in Orange County, California.

"Hold on Hope" will be the first single from "Do the Collapse," which is due out on August 13.
