One of reggae's great vocal trio's since releasing their first record in 1976, the Vibes are operating as a duo following the departure of founding member Albert "Apple" Craig. But you know what? They don't sound all that different. A stellar cast of backing musicians — including bassist Earl "Flabba" Holt, guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith and saxophonist Dean Fraser — supply fat, bubbling accompaniment to tunes alternating between "downpression" anthems such as "Lost Souls" (RealAudio excerpt) and optimistic meditations on African unification such as, well, "African Unification."
