Colin Farrell Nabs A Magical Part In 'Harry Potter' Spin-Off

Yer a wizard, Colin.

Stop the presses, there's a new lead story for The Daily Prophet: Colin Farrell has joined the cast of "Harry Potter" spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor, currently starring in the second season of "True Detective," will play Graves, a New York-based wizard who crosses paths with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne).

Farrell joins Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol in the film. The movie takes place 70 years before The Boy Who Lived set foot in the hallowed halls of Hogwarts, centering around magical zoologist (and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" textbook author) Newt Scamander's adventures in New York. The spin-off is planned to be a trilogy.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is slated to hit theaters November 18, 2016.
