Watch Matt Damon 'Science The S--t' Out Of Mars In This New 'The Martian' Trailer
Do you want to watch Matt Damon talk to himself for two hours? Do you like Jimi Hendrix? Well, good! "The Martian" is the movie for you.
Based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir, Ridley Scott's "The Martian" follows Mark Watney (Damon), an astronaut abandoned on Mars after his crewmates think he has been killed in an accident. The film chronicles his battle to stay alive, his NASA colleagues' daring mission to save him and his evolution from an average botanist to the best goddamn botanist on Mars.
A new epic theatrical trailer for the space flick just dropped, and it's jaw-dropping. Honestly, life on Mars has never looked so damn appealing. Yeah, you'd be isolated from most of humanity, but think of all of the alone time you'd enjoy! And the stunning view!
Though this trailer definitely plays up the more humorous aspects of Watney's predicament on the Red Planet -- his plan is to "science the s--t" out of everything -- the novel definitely carries a lot of emotional weight. Damon is undoubtedly up for the task.
And so is this guy if, you know, Watney happens to run into him on Mars:
Damon joins an all-star cast that includes space movie veterans Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara and Jeff Daniels, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig and Donald Glover.
"The Martian" hits theaters on October 2, 2015.
