It's been nearly nine years since J.K. Rowling released the "final" installment of the wildly popular Harry Potter series, but one scroll through the author's Twitter feed will show you that fans are seemingly more ravenous for inside information than ever. All of those lingering questions you've kept locked in your mind for the last decade? Rowling is here to answer them! Well, maybe.

First, you have to ask her nicely. And second, whatever you do, DO NOT ask her why the Horcrux inside Harry wasn't destroyed at the end of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

When a fan jokingly suggested that Rowling put #NotAPrequel in her Twitter bio to avoid fielding the same Harry Potter and the Cursed Child questions "eleventy billion times," Rowling had the perfect response:

She even said "please" twice. This is a serious request, guys. In case you need a refresher, towards the end of Chamber of Secrets, Harry's flesh was pierced by a Basilisk fang. We know for a fact that Basilisk venom is one of the few substances strong enough to destroy a Horcrux. Not only does it destroy the one inside Tom Riddle's diary, but Ron and Hermione also use one of the fangs to destroy Helga Hufflepuff's cup. So why wasn't the Horcrux residing in Harry's head destroyed when he was bitten by the Basilisk?

The answer is simple: He didn't actually die. Fawkes quickly healed the bite wound with his phoenix tears just in time.
