DNCE Give Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands To Myself’ A Funky Makeover

We could keep this cover to ourselves, but why would we want to?

Before DNCE hit the road with Selena Gomez on her upcoming Revival Tour -- which kicks off May 6 in Las Vegas -- the Joe Jonas-fronted band has paid homage to her in a wholly unexpected way.

While visiting BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Wednesday, Jonas and Co. covered Sel’s hit “Hands to Myself,” a surprisingly sultry choice for the wildly energetic band. Jonas lets his voice hang low for the first verse, mimicking Sel’s lustfulness, but the foursome quickly turns it up a notch for a groovy, funk-fueled chorus. OK, so Jonas’ delivery of the line “I mean I could, but why would I want to?” doesn’t exactly match Selena’s in terms of pure flawlessness, but it’s the effort that counts.

Besides their catchy rendition of “Hands to Myself,” DNCE also performed their hit “Cake By The Ocean” for BBC Radio 1, complete with their usual silliness and swagger.
