One Direction Performed This Fan Favorite Song For The First Time Ever: Watch

Now only if we could get justice for "No Control..."

One Direction are currently in Japan for the second leg of their On The Road Again Tour (after completely slaying in Australia) and they’ve shocked Directioners by giving their setlist a bit of a makeover.

During their show in Osaka last night (Feb. 24), Liam Payne took the mic and told the crowd, “This is a song we’ve never performed before, ever. I hope it goes well. You’ve got faith in me, I know you have. I know it!”

And then the skies opened up, the angels smiled upon the earth, and Harry Styles sang, “Who’s that shadow holding me hostage, I’ve been here for days.”

Yep, “Stockholm Syndrome” is officially on the setlist!

Niall Horan couldn’t help but tweet his excitement about performing the song for the first time.

And neither could Liam, who also tweeted lyrics from the song’s chorus.

The fan favorite tune from the boys’ 2014 album Four reportedly replaced Midnight Memories track “Happily” on the setlist, and Directioners were thrilled about the new addition.

Despite a couple lyrical slip-ups (just shake it off, Louis), the track sounds incredible live. Check out one fan’s footage from the live performance here:

Overall, it’s been an amaZAYNly happy day for the One Direction fandom, after the boys nabbed a Brit Award for British Artist Video of the Year for the song “You & I.”

What do you think, 1D fans? Are you happy the boys added “Stockholm Syndrome” to the setlist? Sound off in the comments below!
