Christina Aguilera, AFI To Perform At MTV Movie Awards

Popcorn presenters include Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson.

It isn't difficult to imagine a killer party fueled by the voices of Justin Timberlake, Ludacris and Christina Aguilera. At one of 2006's biggest bashes, however, they won't just be blaring out of the speakers.

The trio of recording superstars are among the A-list names who'll appear at next month's MTV Movie Awards. New-to-Hollywood stars Justin and Luda, meanwhile, will hand out the famous Golden Popcorn awards alongside stars including Will Ferrell, Kate Hudson, Owen Wilson, Kate Beckinsale and the soon-to-be-superstar from "Superman Returns," Brandon Routh.

In addition to Aguilera, the 2006 edition of the annual event will feature a performance by punk/glam rockers AFI, who'll bust out the new song "Miss Murder" for its first-ever TV performance, just days after their new album, Decemberunderground, hits stores.

Along with the aforementioned stars of films like "Wedding Crashers," "Superman" and "Hustle & Flow," MTV Movie Awards host Jessica Alba will welcome dozens of other presenters to the stage. Additional names include "Crash" star Matt Dillon, rapper/actor T.I., "X-Men" series stunners Rebecca Romijn and Famke Janssen, character actor extraordinaire John C. Reilly, and Routh's co-star and new Lois Lane, Kate Bosworth. Additional presenters and performers will be announced over the next couple of weeks.

Owen Wilson might have a busy night for himself, as "Crashers" is up for five nominations and tied with "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" as the most honored flick (see [article id="1529112"]"Alba, Carell, 'Crashers,' 'Virgin' Big Nominees For MTV Movie Awards"[/article]). Other presenters who could possibly be giving and receiving include Ludacris (three nominations for "Hustle") and Beckinsale (Best Hero for "Underworld: Evolution"). Additional front-runners include the thrice-nominated blockbusters "Batman Begins," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "Sin City" and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith."

Aguilera will give a sneak peek of the music from her new LP, Back to Basics, more than two months before it hits stores (see [article id="1529698"]"Christina's New Split-Personality Album Is Mature And 'Dirrty' "[/article]). Aguilera last appeared at the MTV Movies Awards in 2001, in a show-stopping performance of "Lady Marmalade" alongside Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink.

Promising to be less of an awards show and more like a movie unto itself, this year's MTV Movie Awards will be taped at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California, and will premiere to audiences nationwide on June 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
