Ryan Reynolds Injured On 'Green Lantern' Set

According to Us Magazine, Reynolds was injured on Monday while shooting a scene for director Martin Campbell's developing DC Comics adaptation. The 33-year-old actor reportedly separated his shoulder and "is in lots of pain," treating himself by keeping ice on the injury. Reynolds' representatives did not comment on Us Magazine's story.

As the incident supposedly took place earlier this week and reports are only now surfacing online, the extent of Reynolds' injury and how it will impact further shooting on "Green Lantern" is currently unknown. The movie has been filming in New Orleans since the early spring of 2010.

Reynolds' separated shoulder isn't the first reported injury from the set of "Green Lantern." In March, stuntman Jeff Wolfe revealed that he had dislocated his left shoulder on the set, but was well enough to participate in "another action sequence 12 hours after they popped [the shoulder] back in."

Actress Blake Lively previously weighed in on the very physical "Green Lantern" shoot, explaining that "the fights [are] close and dirty."

"I'm 40 feet in the air, spiraling around," she described. "That's the best workout you can ever do because it's all core. You do that for ten minutes and you should see your body the next day! It's so exhilarating, so thrilling — and nauseating."

Unfortunately, injuries aren't unheard of on movie sets, nor are fatalities. Technician Conway Wickliffe was killed in a September 2007 accident while preparing a stunt with the Batmobile on the set of "The Dark Knight," while actor Brandon Lee was fatally shot during the filming of "The Crow" in 1993.
