7 Tips On Spotting UFOs Based On Newly Released Air Force Documents

Make sure your close encounter isn't a near miss.

You've known for some time now that aliens exist. From that roommate with the four pet chinchillas to the your boss with the PEZ collection, it seems clear that extra terrestrials may even be living among us. Recently, 10,000 previously classified reports that date from the 1940s to the 1970s, and were conducted as part of the Air Force's UFO study Project Blue Book, have become available online for all of us to feast our human eyes upon. Here, based on these real-life reports, are seven of the most important tips to keep in mind if you're looking for the truth that's out there.

"Contrails" is a phrase that's short for condensation trails. They're often found on the back of planes...and, apparently, "funnel shaped objects."

Have a buddy (or two) back up your story.

Preferably, pilot buddies. Oh, and it doesn't hurt if you're a pilot, too.

Check for hovering and a "bluish glow."

After you check to make sure you haven't peed your pants, that is.

Observe whether there seems to be a flame with a "cylindrical shape."

Real talk, though, why else would the sky be on fire?

Before you call the Air Force, however, maybe make sure it's not birds.

Sure, this could mean it's the planet Venus, if you buy into that sort of thing.

Don't act so weird that investigators decide further contact with you is "not advisable."

Seriously. Put the tin foil hat away.
