Rapper Sean Price Is Dead At 43

The Brooklyn native passed away on Saturday morning.

Rapper Sean Price died on Saturday morning, August 8, at the age of 43.

Price reportedly passed away suddenly in his sleep, at his home in Brooklyn. His cause of death is still unknown, but an autopsy report has been scheduled.

The Brooklyn, New York, native made a huge impact on the city's rap movement in the '90s as one half of the duo, Heltah Skeltah, where he performed as Ruckus (A.K.A. Ruck) along with his partner Rock.

Price was signed with Duck Down Records and he was also a member of the Boot Camp Clik collective along with Buckshot and Smif-N-Wessun.

He continued to release music as a solo artist throughout the years, including 2012's Mic Tyson, and 2007's Jesus Price Supastar. His latest project Songs In The Key Of Price was scheduled to be released on August 21.

Members of the hip-hop community, including DJ Premier and Just Blaze, paid their respects to Price for his pioneering work in hip-hop.

"R.I.P. Ruck....Love and Respect to The Duck Down Family!!!," Premier wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of the late rapper.
