Zombie Will Write/Direct Next "Crow" Flick

Feb. 11 [18:00 EST] -- Rob Zombie has been asked to direct the next installment in the "Crow" film series.

The movie will be based on his own screenplay, which he's currently re-writing. Shooting should begin later this year.

Zombie is no stranger to the visual arts; he once worked as an assistant art director on the "Pee Wee's Playhouse" T.V. series, and has directed videos for his band, White Zombie, as well as such acts as Prong.

He also contributed drawings and music for a hallucinatory sequence in "Beavis And Butt-Head Do America." Zombie has also just completed a video for "The Great American Nightmare," a duet with Howard Stern that will run over the opening credits of Stern's upcoming movie, "Private Parts.

In addition to all of this, Zombie's contribution to the soundtrack of the last "Crow" movie, a suitably twisted cover of K.C. and the Sunshine Band's "I'm Your Boogie Man," is nominated for a best metal Grammy Award this year, as is "Hands

Of Death," his duet with Alice Cooper on the "X-Files" album, "Songs In The Key Of X.
