Ashcroft Solo Debut, Alone With Everybody, Due In June

Singer expected to tour in fall.

Alone With Everybody, the solo debut from Richard Ashcroft, former singer for The Verve, will be released June 27 in the United States.

"He'll likely tour North America in the fall," publicist Ambrosia Healy said.

The album's first single, "A Song for the Lovers," recently debuted at #3 in England. A second single, "Money to Burn" will be released there commercially June 12, with the unissued B-sides "Leave Me High" and "XXYY."

Meanwhile, Ashcroft will make his live solo debut at England's V2000 festival, which is slated for Aug. 19–20 for Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

"At this time there's no word on who will be in the touring band," Healy said.

The full track listing for Alone With Everybody is: "A Song for the Lovers," "I Get My Beat," "Brave New World," "New York," "You on My Mind (In My Sleep)," "Crazy World," "On a Beach," "Money to Burn," "Slow Was My Heart," "C'Mon People (We're Making It Now)" and "Everybody."

The Verve ended a topsy-turvy nine-year career that included several legal entanglements in 1999. After success in Britain, they finally broke through on U.S. radio with the 1997 single "Bitter Sweet Symphony" (RealAudio excerpt).
