Jazz singer/pianist Diana Krall, 31, and jazz-pop vocalist Tony Bennett, 74 both Grammy Award winners are joining for a summer tour of Europe and the United States, the two are expected to announce soon.
Most dates are unconfirmed, but the tour will begin July 1 in Edinburgh, Scotland, then hit other European dates before returning to the U.S. for shows on Aug. 4 and 5 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The two will play New York's Radio City Music Hall in September.
For Krall, it's a chance to sing with one of her prime influences.
"Tony Bennett taught me how important emotional directness is in music," she said years ago. "It's all about how you communicate. You tell a story, but you leave it open to personal interpretation."
Bennett has recorded hundreds of songs, including "This Can't Be Love," going back to the early '50s.
Last month Krall won a Jazz Vocal Performance Grammy for her CD When I Look in Your Eyes (RealAudio excerpt of title track). Bennett won a Traditional Pop Vocal Performance Grammy for Bennett Sings Ellington Hot and Cool.
