Young Thug Threatens Lil Wayne Over 'Carter 6' Album

The saga continues.

It looks like Young Thug has no interest in diffusing the situation between himself and Lil Wayne.

Early Tuesday morning (Apr. 14), Thugger made an announcement that could add some fuel to the fire: He'll be performing in Weezy's hometown the day his Barter 6 project drops.

"Carter 6 coming out Friday; first show, New Orleans, Hollygrove," the rapper said on Instagram. "F--k n---a. Meet me there. Better yet, beat me there."

"With them d--ks, too," he added, then turning the camera on some gun-totting comrades he was sharing the room with.

Not only is Tunechi a New Orleans native, but Hollygrove is the specific neighborhood where he was raised.

Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal that a rapper was performing in another rapper's backyard. But Wayne and Thug have had a tense relationship of late.

After earning comparisons to Weezy's sound when he first emerged nationally in early 2014, Thug told MTV News late last year that he had plans to take the baton from the Young Money rapper's established Tha Carter album series and "do 6 to 10." Then we found out that his Carter 6 would be dropping this Friday, Apr. 17.

Maybe that wouldn't have been an issue if Tune had finished up his final Carter album, but Tha Carter V currently sits in limbo -- and Wayne is blaming his label boss, Birdman, who also happens to be Young Thug's music business mentor.

Late last week, Wayne told a concert crowd to "stop listening to songs of n—as that pose naked on they motherf--king album cover," referencing the Barter 6 cover (Thug said Monday night he had to change the name from Carter 6 for legal reasons).

Thug responded by promising, "I will never in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothing."

Maybe he's changed his mind on that. Let's hope those guns get put away and this doesn't get violent.
