Amy Schumer Covers 'Glamour,' Talks Feminism, Confidence, And More

While I am definitely in no rush to make the summer go quickly, I am pretttty eager for August magazines to start hitting stands—specifically, Glamour's August issue, which stars Amy Schumer.

This cover marks Amy's first major ~fashun~ magazine cover and she looks, fittingly stylish and, of course, windblown (more on that in a minute). Inside, Amy is interviewed by her sister Kim Caramele, and the duo discuss Amy's status as a feminist icon, sexism, and—praise—confidence.

On the topic, Amy says, "Appearance has so little to do with where we should get our confidence from. But everywhere we turn we’re told we’re supposed to look this certain way...But confidence has nothing to do with how you look. I feel happiest when I’m with friends and I’m working really hard."

She also discusses her #ICONIC speech from the Glamour Awards, saying, "Men can look like whatever and still date a supermodel. I’m proud of what I said. I think it’s good to see somebody saying: I have a belly. And I have cellulite. And I still deserve love. And to catch the old D. And to not apologize."

YOU ARE THE BEST, AMY. ILY X 938849403030.

In a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot, Amy shares her internal monologue from the shoot, which is largely focused on how hard it is to pose when there's wind being blown directly in your eyes. She may make posing in it look easy, but, yeah, it's definitely not.

Thankfully, the wait for the rest of the issue isn't long—it's dropping on newsstands starting on July 14. For a preview of what's inside, head over to Glamour's website.
