Riot Ends Rap Show With Eve, Juvenile

A hip-hop concert at the Oakland (Calif.) Coliseum whose lineup included Eve and the Hot Boys — featuring Juvenile — was stopped Friday (Jan. 14) after a riot broke out, according to media reports. Gunshots were reported both inside and outside the building and about 25 people were hurt, Lt. J.C. Maldonado of the Alameda County Sheriff's Department told Reuters. Concert-goers reportedly stormed the arena floor, fought, threw folding chairs at each other — and at a sheriff's deputy — and tossed one person off a balcony. No arrests were reported, but the Associated Press reported that it took 250 officers to get things under control. Eve and the Hot Boys are scheduled to join DMX and other rap stars on a joint tour of the Ruff Ryders and Cash Money Millionaires crews that begins Feb. 24 in Rochester, N.Y.
