Petty's, Gabriel's Daughters Debut Art Piece
Tom Petty, Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed, John
Cale, Laurie Anderson and Evan Dando are among the
artists expected to turn out Saturday (May 8) for the premiere of "Low
Flame," a multimedia art installation created by Petty's and Gabriel's
daughters, Adria Petty and Anna Gabriel. The exhibit makes its debut at
the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center in New York. Incorporating music (by
DJ Stress and Howie Statland of the New York bands
Thin Lizard Dawn and Zowie), silent film and tactile
installations, "Low Flame" tells the story of a garbage man who collects
trash in an attempt to rebuild the family he lost as a child.
