A Girl Is Arya Stark Of Winterfell And She’s Going To The Emmys

‘Game of Thrones’ racked up 23 Emmy nominations, including the firsts for Maisie Williams and Kit Harington

The 2016 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced Thursday (July 14), and it's clear Westeros is coming for all the awards come September. Game of Thrones landed 23 total nominations, the most for any show, and five of its stars were nominated for either Best Supporting Actor or Actress in a Drama Series. The show itself was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.

Maisie Williams and Kit Harington, who portray the Stark children Arya and Jon Snow respectively, both landed their first nominations — Williams in the actress category and Harington for actor. Series regulars and previous nominees Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, and Lena Headey all returned to the ballot. It looks like it'll be Lannister versus Stark (or Targaryen versus Lannister versus Stark), and we can't wait to see who will win this battle. Additionally, Max von Sydow, who played the Three-Eyed Raven, is nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

Naturally, Game of Thrones fans were freaking out at the news, but Williams lost her chill the most. After all, her character did have to suffer as a blind girl, only to eventually regain her sight (and her name) and kick some seriously major ass during Season 6. Grab Needle and recite the kill list in your head, Maisie, because the Emmys are calling. And what do we say to Emmy snubs? “Not today.”

Unlike on the show, however, there's no bad blood between the celebs about competing against each other, as evidenced by Headey and Williams's Twitter conversation.
