Jesse Eisenberg Explains Why Going Bald For Lex Luthor Was 'Terrifying'
It's not easy being green — a lesson Jesse Eisenberg learned while playing filthy rich super villain Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
The character's endless wealth and resources had little to do with Eisenberg's discomfort, however. Rather, it was the necessary bald aesthetic that left the Oscar-nominated actor feeling uneasy. Eisenberg spoke about going bald at length with Seth Meyers on "Late Night" last night, saying he felt physically vulnerable due to the hairstyle — or lack thereof.
"It was really strange," he said. "It's the kind of thing where you felt you could really damage yourself."
And lest you think he was wearing a bald cap for the role, Eisenberg wants to assure you that he absolutely shaved all of his hair for the role. "The face is all computer-generated," he joked.
"It's terrifying," he added. "It's terrifying."
