Guster Draft Producer For Live Shows

Steve Lillywhite, producer of U2 and Dave Matthews, to play bass for acoustic trio.

Low-key acoustic trio Guster have drafted their producer, Steve

Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews), to play bass for five

shows in October, according to band publicists. The stint with the

melody-prone East Coast group, whose instrumentation usually consists of

two guitars and bongos, marks Lillywhite's first onstage appearance

since his decidedly unfamous garage-band days of two decades ago.

Guster are touring behind their third album — their major-label

debut — Lost and Gone Forever. The disc, which was released

Sept. 28 on Sire Records, debuted at #169 on the Billboard 200

albums chart. According to publicists, the band is warming up for a

headlining show Nov. 27 at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom.
