Luscious Jackson Touring With Ben Lee
Luscious Jackson will be on the road in North America through early
November with Australian rocker Ben Lee opening.
The hip-hop-influenced New York pop band, whose most recent album was
Electric Honey (June 29), is known for its eclectic combination
of rock, hip-hop, jazz, soul and funk, which it introduced on the 1992
EP In Search of Manny. The group's single "Ladyfingers" (RealAudio
excerpt) features country singer Emmylou Harris.
The songs on Electric Honey are "a result of being happy while we
were making the record," guitarist Gabby Glaser said this summer.
Luscious Jackson's tour intersects with that of acoustic-tinged
singer/songwriter and Grand Royal labelmate Ben Lee. The former leader
of the teen rock band Noise Addict released his moody, introspective
third solo album, Breathing Tornadoes, which includes the single
"Cigarettes Will Kill You" (RealAudio
excerpt), in March.
