Sugar Ray Bassist Mulling Book About Band

Sugar Ray bassist Murphy Karges is thinking about writing

a book on his Orange County, Calif., band, according to a posting on the

band's official website (www.sugarrayonline.com). In a posting dated

Wednesday (June 16), Karges wrote: "I'm thinking of writing a book about

the band, from our earliest beginnings in Newport Beach, playing keg

parties, to everything we've been through and achieved since then. If

you think I should write it, send me an e-mail at WriteMurf@aol.com and

tell me what you think." Sugar Ray will perform during the opening

ceremonies for the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games on June 26

before touring with the Goo Goo Dolls and Fastball next

month. In other news, Sugar Ray's lead singer Mark McGrath taped another appearance

on the game show "Jeopardy" on Tuesday.
