Guitarist Jeff Beck has backed out of Woodstock '99. Publicists

for the festival announced Tuesday that scheduling conflicts have caused

Beck to withdraw two weeks after being added to the lineup. Beck missed

the original 1969 festival when his Jeff Beck Group broke up. The

festival is scheduled to take place July 23-25 at Griffiss Technology

Park, a former Air Force base in Rome, N.Y.
