Rancid's Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman and the

Slackers' Vic Ruggiero are gearing up to record their first

full-length album as The Silencers, according to Armstrong's

label, Hellcat Records. The traditional ska band previously released the

track "Policeman" on the compilation album Give 'Em the Boot

(1997), albeit with a slightly differently lineup. Recording for the

new disc begins this month.
