Pretenders Prep New Album

Veteran rockers the Pretenders will release their first studio
album since 1994 on June 8, according to a spokesperson for the band's
record label, Warner Bros. Viva El Amor will feature a guest
appearance by guitarist Jeff Beck on "Legalize Me," according to
a U.K. spokesperson for the band. Other tracks slated for the
album include "Pop Star," "Human," "From the Heart Down," "Nails in the
Road," "Who's Who," "Dragway 42," "Samurai" and "Rabo de Nube." The
Pretenders' last album was Isle of View (1995), a live acoustic
set. On Saturday the Pretenders played an animal-rights benefit in
London, which the band's singer, Chrissie Hynde,
helped organize in memory of the late Linda McCartney.
