Yoko Ono has put up a 20-by-60-foot billboard near New York City's Times

Square that reads, "War Is Over! If You Want It -- Happy Christmas From John & Yoko."

That's the same message Yoko and her late husband, ex-Beatles leader

John Lennon, posted on billboards in 12 major cities in 1969 (and sang in a

1971 Christmas single, "Happy Xmas [War Is Over]"). "[Ono] felt there are so many

political problems now. ... [It's] a similar climate in some ways to 29 years ago," said

publicist Josie Diels, who is working for Ono on the billboard campaign. The billboard,

on Broadway between 46th and 47th streets, is scheduled to remain in place through

Christmas.
