Pioneering, alternative-metal band Helmet have called it quits after an eight-year, four-album career, according to a spokesperson for their label, Interscope Records. Group leader Page Hamilton will begin work on his first post-Helmet

album next year. It has not yet been determined under what name Hamilton will release his next project. Hamilton broke out on his own earlier this year by contributing the song "Underscore" to the soundtrack to the indie feature "Chicago Cab."
