In September, officials at Colombia's embassy in Paris registered their anger over the
title of the Fun Lovin' Criminals' overseas release 100% Colombian in a
letter to the rap-rock band's French label, Chrysalis. The diplomats say they were
offended that the country's name would be linked with the term "criminal," particularly in
light of Colombia's continued battle against the drug trade. "This is an American group
and we didn't understand why the name of Colombia should be in the album," said an
embassy representative who asked not to be named.
