DMX Vows To Break All Rules In Boxing Match With George Zimmerman

George Zimmerman will hit the ring with DMX for a tense boxing match on March 1.

On Wednesday morning (February 5), "Happy Birthday Trayvon Martin" became a trending topic on Twitter, as hundreds paid respects to the slain Florida teen, on what would've been his 19th birthday. Strangely enough, only hours earlier it was revealed that George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of Martin's murder, would hit the ring for a boxing match against DMX.

TMZ reports that last month Zimmerman agreed to throw down against anyone in a boxing match, and promoter Damon Feldman has now confirmed that he will faceoff with DMX.

The news is odd and unsettling considering how angry and outspoken the hip-hop community was against Zimmerman throughout the controversial murder case. He was acquitted of shooting and killing 17-year-old Martin while claiming self-defense, and nationwide protests and uproar followed what many considered to be an unfair ruling.

Happy Birthday Trayvon Martin. Didn't know you personally but your story resonates with my generation cause he could of been anyone of us.

Artists including Wyclef Jean and Jeezy dedicated tributes to Trayvon, but DMX and Game wanted to kick it up a notch, offering to fight Zimmerman in a boxing match on March 1.

"I would not be boxing for me," Game previously told TMZ. "I'd be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family. I would box him to knock him out. I would definitely take pleasure in it. It's legal, and I want to show him you can solve your disputes without a weapon."

DMX didn't mince words either, reportedly telling the gossip site that he'd be boxing on behalf of "every black person who has been done wrong in the system," and adding that he'd even take it so far as urinating on Zimmerman after the fight.

"I am going to beat the living f--- out him. I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f--- him right up," X said. Tensions are clearly still running high.
