If you ever thought that the hypnotic guitar rhythms of Northern Mississippi bluesman R.L. Burnside cried out for a set of phat beats, look no further than Burnside's next release, Come On In (Aug. 25). The album features 12 songs by the 71-year-old juke-jointer, remixed by producer Tom Rothrock (Beck, Foo Fighters) and Atari Teenage Riot mastermind Alec Empire. The seemingly unusual collaboration also could be seen as a natural pairing: "Blues is nothing but dance music," Burnside observes in the album's press kit.
