David Byrne To Host "Sessions"

Ex-Talking Heads frontman and world music connoisseur David Byrne has apparently set his sights on a new gig ... as a TV show host.

Byrne, who released his ninth solo album, "Feelings," last year, is in discussions to serve as host for the upcoming season of "Sessions at West 54th," a live music program carried in most TV markets by PBS.

The move will bring Byrne back to the show, as he was one of the last year's "Session" performers, which also included Beck, Sheryl Crow, Ben Folds Five, Joshua Redman and Tricky, among others.

Sessions at West 54th" is currently slated to start taping its new season during the next few weeks, and the line-up of artists is still being finalized.

According to a source close to the show, the musicians for this season's "Sessions" will likely reflect Byrne's eclectic music tastes, leaving open the possibility for Byrne to sit in and play with each show's scheduled performers.
